“A proof of Wisdom Is the Willingness to Learn”

What is Wisdom? I have come across several definitions of wisdom through my learning, but my favourite is the one that I felt the Lord dropped into my spirit – which says, “Wisdom is the ability to discern the mind of God in very situation.” In other words, wisdom is the capability to recognise the very action God would have taken in the situation that you are facing had He been in your shoes.

I am a firm believer that there is no true wisdom anywhere else but in God. Wisdom is WHO God is. He is the Supreme Intelligence from whom all humans’ limited intelligences emanate. And without His wisdom in us – our best intellectual and conceptual paradigms are futile.

In fact, Jesus Christ, being The Word, is our true Wisdom according to 1Corinthians 1:30, “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” Christ is the Wisdom the whole needs.

On that now, how do we know that someone is wise? Certainly not by the quality of the school or university he attended, nor through the number of titles or abbreviations behind or after his name. It is not even through the brilliance of his IQ. Rather it is through his willingness to learn what is most important in life – which is to know the Will of his Creator.

As you know everything in life has a different value. The worth of your hair is different from the worth of your heart. Likewise, the value you place on your travel documents such as your passport is not the same value you attach to your phone book. The value of everything is determined by the harshness of the potential consequences of not having them. You can survive without having any hair on your head – as most people are comfortably doing. But how many seconds can one live if his heart is disconnected from his body? Not everything has the same value. And this is the biggest test of wisdom – to know how to place the right amount of values to different things.

It fascinates me that many intellectuals of world who think they are wise actually reveal their lack of wisdom by ignoring the most import thing on the earth – their Creator. Many deny His existence, even though the amazing order, extra-ordinariness and beauty of the universe validate the existence of a Supreme Being – from whose MATCHLESS Wisdom everything came to being. They draw their conclusions about The Word of God without having sufficient knowledge of it. A lot of this people are good people, but as the Scripture says, “Good people are not always wise.

The only proof of wisdom is the passion to know the mind of God. Because this is what gives this life a true sense of meaning and guarantees salvation from the peril to come. The bible says, “What good will it is for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matt 16:26-27).

What is your level of passion for learning from the Lover of your Soul – the One in whom we all live, move and have our being? Are you a protégé of the Holy Spirit? Do you have a passion for Truth and a hatred for error?

If you have developed a burning desire to learn at the feet of Jesus – through His Word, you have demonstrated a higher level of wisdom. You are simply smarter than many paraded scholars of this world. The knowledge of the HOLY ONE is the only evidence of true wisdom – and with it come, everlasting peace, unprecedented joy, fulfilment and ultimately eternal life.

Take Control of Your Thoughts

Thoughts have tremendous creative power. Everything that has been invented on the earth man humans was stated with a thought – from a simple pen to a sophisticated plane – all emerged from the thought-energy of humans.

Science tells us that everything is energy, and constantly in a state of vibration – irrespective of its state – solid, liquid or gas. Everything vibrates at a very high frequency.

Most interestingly, in metaphysical studies, there was a ground-breaking discovery about human thoughts which proved that thoughts actually vibrate at a remarkably higher frequency than several other elements in this material world – which makes it possible for man to effect changes in their lives and in their future by just altering the quality of their thoughts.

A Positive thought impact the brain with positive vibrational energy which then sends positive vibrational signals unto the nervous systems and through into the whole body. If you begin to think that you are a confident person, for example, and think and say it long enough for your subconscious mind to take you seriously, you will begin to feel confident in real life.

This was the scientific validation of what the Word of God has already said many centuries before. The bible says, “As He thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7). You will always become the person you think you are.

That is why it is important to write down everything you desire to experience in your personal life, relationships, career and finances and, of course, in your spiritual life. Make a list of all that you want to create in the present and in the future – including what you desire for your loved ones. Ensure you write them in the present tense – for example, “I am an exceptional and confident salesman” or “My children are all passionate about God and about being kind to each other and to people in their society.”

Write your goals down as if you already have them. Do not say, “I will lose weight…” instead say “I weigh this amount of Kilos.” This is the secret of divine creativity. The bible says “God gives life to the dead and calls those things that do not exist as though they do exist (Romans 4:17).  If God operates in this way, which is the way man should operate – because we are created in His image and after His likeness. So we should function the way our Father functions. It is called Faith (Hebrews 11:1). This is the way God operates and we are expected to work by faith also.

After you’ve written down your goals, begin to feed them to your mind daily – read the list daily and loud enough for you to hear your own voice. Repeat it every day until they begin to consume your thoughts. Keep up with it for 30 days or more – the results will stun you. The changes that will happen in you and around you will be remarkable.  It is divine law of Faith. Jesus said that, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

If you can hold any positive thought in your mind long enough with great passion and believe in the power of God, you will begin to see its physical manifestation. What starts as an invisible thought eventually becomes visible and tangible.

Lastly, thoughts create feelings; and the feelings they generate are always consistent with the quality the thoughts that create them. Your thought is energy; moving you in the direction of a feeling – good or bad.

Therefore, if you do not like how you are feeling about something or someone. Sit down and analyse your thoughts concerning that things or that person. Ask questions such as; why am I feeling this way? What can I do to resolve this issue? How can I resolve this scripturally? What positive thoughts can I start engaging in so as to displace the old negativethoughts, which are generating bad emotions in me?

Pour the Word of God on your mind daily. This is what Apostle Paul meant when he said, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2). When you take control of your thoughts, you take control of your life. Never fill your mind with the thoughts of what you do not want in your world. When you hold only on to God0thoughts, the resultant effects will be strength, peace, joy, happiness and fulfilments in the Holy Spirit.

Is Your Memory Working For You Or Against You?

What do you think about the most – your past failures or your future possibilities? Your life is whatever dominates your memory. The difference in people is the quality of their recollection. Those who major on recollecting their past disappointments and failures often pollute the present and robs themselves of today’s happiness and opportunities.

girl_thinking[1]One of the fundamental purposes of memory, regarding peace and happiness, is to reminisce past victories and visit moments of high self-confidence and achievements.

Whatever challenges you’ve been through in the past contains hidden wisdom. So it is prudent to scrutinize the past in order to extract the wisdom it teaches. But never dwell on your past misfortunes, mistakes or disappointments more than necessary, lest it saps the precious energy crucial for your joy and productivity.

“Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory,” said Albert Schweitzer. Regarding your past pains, choose to have a bad memory. But for your past triumphs, develop a good and keen memory. Use it break the back bones of fear and doubts that may want to stand in your way today in accomplishing your goals.

David never recollected his errors, inferiority complex or weaknesses when he was about to confront Goliath. Rather he punched his good memories of triumphs on – how he defeated lions and bears in the jungle! He used his past triumphs to eject positive energy into the present.

If you want to experience perpetual productivity, peace and happiness, you must give up your negative personal history – then focus on the promises of God for your future. Analysis the past, learn from it, but never live in it.

“…But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead. Philippians 3:13

“Healthy Obsessions Are Seeds for Success”

Success is the produce of positive obsessions. Great achievements are fruits of great habits that become obsessions.  Positive obsession is the only route to unparalleled significance. Whatever does not consume your present, cannot dominate your future.

Mike Murdock, one of the outstanding teachers in my life, says, “You cannot have significant success in anything that does not become your obsession.” Obsession is the incredible passion for something, without which you are unwilling to live.

Positive obsession is the only route to unparalleled significance.

Positive obsession is the only route to unparalleled significance.

Every highly successful individual is never without a success neurotic condition called obsessive daily self-disciplines (ODSD). Shaq O’Neal, one of the greatest MBA basketball players ever, threw 500 free-throws every night before going to bed. Likewise, Mother Theresa ensured she touched the life of at least one poor soul daily. She was totally consumed with a compassion for the poor on the streets of Calcutta. She became unquenchably obsessive to kindness.

In her words, Mother Theresa said, “I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” This is a powerful statement, loaded with several congruent applications. One of its applications relating to positive obsession is this; if you continue to love success principles, such as faith, goal-setting, self-disciplines, positive mental attitude, time management, honesty, etc., even though it is hard and difficult to turn them to habits, once you’ve pushed through the pain barriers and the habits are formed, there can be no more hurting, only more love and more harvests of your accomplishments.

What is your passion in life? What do you really want out of this life? It is critical that you identify what you want in life and what you need to do daily to achieve it. Then persevere through the principle of self-disciplines until positive obsessions are birthed.

“Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success,” says Napoleon Hill. Maintaining positive daily disciplines require patience, persistence and perspiration, but the moment the habits are formed you enter into an auto-suggestion mode, where you begin to perpetuate great success habits effortlessly.

The bible is a book about holy obsessions. It is the greatest success book. It contains over 8,000 unprecedented success principles for humans’ salvation, perfect peace and total fulfilment. If you make the word of God your passion in life, your fulfilment and success are guaranteed. Here is what God said in Joshua 1:8.

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Whatever you desire in your future, you can get it sooner if God’s presence is your passion. Wherever you want to go in life, you will get there faster when you are lifted and secured by the wings of the Spirit of God.

The greatest healthy obsession in life, I believe, is the obsession with your Creator. It is from this single holy obsession that all other positive obsessions in your life will find their strengths and meanings.

Begin today on a journey of shaping your future by creating, in your daily life, positive and purposeful obsessions. The rewards will be worth it!

Blessings
